Burning Question

Most of you know I haven’t been around the blogging world much lately because I’m in the middle of revisions for On Haunted Ground. ***sigh*** While working on said revisions, I came up with a question I’d really like some feedback on.

Whether you believe in ghosts or not, if you were at a place rumored to be haunted and you witnessed something you couldn’t explain, such as an object moving on its own, would you be scared, intrigued or indifferent?

  1. I think it'd scare the hell out of me but I'd be intrigued as well because I do believe in this stuff. It might not be relevant but this is the reason I don't approve of Ouija boards (or whatever they're called) and people playing with the supernatural. I believe this is very real and it's better not to mess with it.

  2. Franny, like you I believe in this stuff too. But for some reason I usually skip the scared part and jump right into being intrigued. As far as the Ouija board I'm not a fan of them either.

Book Addict as the saying goes we must be two peas in a pod.

  3. I totally agree Lisa :) That's why I've kept myself from watching Paranormal Activity... too real, too scary

  4. I usually don't skip the scared part but then I skip being alone for a while... :P

  6. If I saw something moving on its own, while in a real-deal scary house/mansion/boat?

    1. My heart would jump.
    2. I wouldn't be able to move.
    3. I'd stare.
    4. My mind would try to process what's going on.
    5. I'd still stand there until something else happened.
    6. If something else DID happen, I'd run and scream like a fancy girl.

All in all, I'd be totally scared O_O

    ghost ---> ~('.'~)

LOL and thanks for joining Ghost Talk. The comment about screaming like a fancy girl made me shoot coffee out of my nose.

  8. So Lisa, I guess we're alone on this not-scared thing?

  9. Apparently so Book Addict. I have had many paranormal experiences. Each of them have just left me intrigued.

  10. I'd go with my gut. If I felt an "aggressive" vibe I'd be out the door so fast one of those little cartoon "poofs" would form in my wake. If I didn't get that predatory sense from it, I'd be jump right into reality testing... and then kind of playing with it.

  11. Intrigued. Of course, I'm 'The Haunted City Writer' so I'm used to that sort of thing. I also have friends that conduct paranormal investigations. They were featured recently on Biography or Discover Channel - forget which one. Had a great time describing a "ghost hunt" in my 2nd book (also YA) & one of my characters happens to be a dead pirate. Yep- definitely intrigued.
